Roman Rudnytsky is a concert pianist of Ukrainian background who has been performing around the world for many years. Born in New York and a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, he has played concerts in 100 countries.

He was a prizewinner in ten international and national piano competitions, has been soloist with many orchestras around the world, played many concerts and conducted master classes through the auspices of US Embassies in 35 countries (with repeat visits to many), and played recitals on about 70 cruises of Cunard and P&O ships. In addition, he was for many years a university professor of piano and music and is now “Professor Emeritus” of Youngstown State University (OH)–Dana School of Music.

On this Alaskan tour, Roman Rudnytsky will also be playing recitals in Skagway, Haines, Petersburg, and Talkeetna through the local Arts Councils. He has made several Alaskan tours in the past and has played before in Skagway , Haines (four times) , and Petersburg (twice), as well as in Seldovia (twice), Valdez, Dillingham, and Wrangell.

Concerts in 2022 will include such places as Britain, Guam and Saipan, New Zealand (14th tour), and Australia (22nd tour).

Highlights of this performance will include Roman Rudnytsky’s own transcription for solo piano of the well-known Mozart Concerto in C, K. 467 for piano and orchestra (the one with the “Elvira Madigan” second movement) and will also include well-known works by such as Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, and Liszt.
