Artist Potluck June 2024

Portfolio Development with R. Christopher Kincaid

It’s the time of year where galleries all over Alaska and beyond, open their galleries to your ideas. As artist gear up to submit their work through gallery proposals, HCOA invites you to attend our second artist potluck where Homer photographer Chris Kincaid will lead a discussion and demonstration on how to document your artwork to create a professional portfolio.

Wednesday June 26th

6-8pm in the HCOA Gallery

You may have seen Chris Kincaid taking photos at community events around Homer. He often supports HCOA by photographing major performances and is a huge supporter of the arts in our community. He moved to Homer with his family in 2020 and he has been documenting the people, the land, the sky, and the animals of this unique corner of the world ever since.

In conjunction with the artist potluck, Chris Kincaid will be leading a workshop on Saturday, June 29th, where participants will learn to photograph their own work using their own camera. Check out the link to find out more!

Check out R. Christopher Kincaid’s collection of photographs titled Now I Think I Like Birds, on display in the SPH Gallery May 3rd-June 4th.

HCOA’s Artist Potluck series is a networking and creative development event for emerging and established artists. It’s all about creating an environment for artists to grow together, with the second event being focused on portfolio development. Artists will have the opportunity to learn from each other, first through a presentation from the invited artists, followed by a potluck and a mingling opportunity that can foster cross disciplinary friendships and support.
