Camp overview:

Each student will select their classes from a list of options. We will do our best to place students in requested classes as well as an ensemble group of 4-7 students.

Each day will consist of a whole group gathering, 3 separate 45-minute class blocks, the ensemble rehearsal, and a group close-out.

Each student will need to bring lunch and a morning snack. On friday, student ensembles will perform from 3-4 for each other and invited guests!

The emphasis of Mary Epperson Music Camp is to have fun playing music! Whether you have been studying privately, learning from friends or YouTube, or completely new to music, this is an opportunity to play with people to make music come to life! All students will have a chance to explore the range of instruments in the camp, and every student is encouraged to take a class in a new-to-you instrument.

Camp Instructors:

Sue Biggs – fiddle, guitar, vocals
Pattie Hamre – ukulele
Martie Krohn – guitar, dulcimer, whistle
Josh Krohn – clawhammer banjo
Robyn Lanier – piano and songwriting
Mary Schallert – fiddle, guitar, vocals, strings

plus guest musicians and student counselors

This camp is made possible thanks to the generous support from the Homer Foundation YAC Fund and the Alaska Community Foundation’s CAMP Initiative
