Homer Council on the Arts created Art from the Heart in response to the isolation many of us experienced in the first year of the COVID-19 Pandemic, as well as the financial impact to artists during this time. We invited Homer performing artists whose income was threatened by the pandemic to submit proposals for a commissioned work. We paired the resulting performance pieces with original art by local K-12 students with the goal of creating connections and supporting community. The artwork and recorded performances were distributed to isolated seniors and at-risk individuals isolated due to the pandemic. Audio projects were also shared on KBBI AM 890. Thank you to the Homer Foundation for supporting this project!

These recording were commissioned by Homer Council on the Arts as part of “Art From the Heart,” a project sharing performances and student artwork to encourage togetherness and support during the isolation of the coronavirus pandemic.
