Jazz Like Chocolate

Karen Strid-Chadwick and Mari Hahn present a delightful concoction of jazz, cabaret and musical theater songs. Reflecting the theme of the concert, each set of song will reflect a type of chocolate: Silky Dark, Crunchy Toffee, Creamy Truffle, and Habanera Spicy ! Favorites such as Bewitched, Cheek to Cheek and Edith Piaf's La Vie en Rose will be featured, in fresh and innovative arrangements.

Mari Hahn is equally at home in the genres of opera, art song, musical theater and jazz. She is known for her highly interactive and entertaining performance style, and will be sure to engage the audience in various ways.

Karen Strid-Chadwick is well known to audiences as a soloist and ensemble performer, often collaborating with reputed jazz musicians from around the world.

Both professors at the University of Alaska Anchorage, Karen and Mari have been collaborating for the last several years, performing in Anchorage and in British Columbia, Canada. This will be their first performance in Homer.
