This program is a collaboration between Pier One Theater and Homer Council on the Arts, a 17 week musical theater program February through May. This will expand the theater experience for school age students and introduce theater to those students who lean toward singing and dance. This year the musical will be “Annie” with a script specifically written for the school age group provided by Music Theatre International.
An additional component to the program will be mentoring. The adults in the cast will mentor the youth as emerging performers. The intention is to create a positive community experience of adults and youth supporting the healthy development of our children. This aspect of the program is supported by the Alaska Association of School Boards and the Alaska Initiative for Community Engagement. For more information about AlaskaICE click here.
